Anyone in middle TN? I'm trying to seriously get into climbing but as it stands now the best I can actually do to climb is once every two weeks at most due to location. I'm in Manchester, so unfortunately Nashville and Franklin (Climb Nashville loacations) are a little far for everyday access. Any other area climbers?

Hey!
I live about an hour and a half from Nashville... I havent been climbing at all this summer and its killing me... I was working as a high ropes instructor at cmap... but not anymore... lol so I finally have time to climb again... I am willing to go wherever but if its over 2 hours I will probably camp and make it a 2 day thing... I climb sport, trad, toprope, and I like to boulder (although I suck really bad at it)... I'm extremely out of shpae for not climbing all summer, so bare with me.... hope to hear from you soon.. peace

Where do you guys climb around here? I don't know when the next time I'd have time is on a weekend. I'm usually in Atlanta on the weekends. Ideally I'd like to try to get stuff in during the week, but with work and stuff I know that's hard for a lot of people.

hey I'm blakewrinn's partner and live in tullahoma as well. most of the climbing in our area is toward chatanooga. Foster falls is on monteagle. It's a great sport venue but not so great for beginners. There are several places to climb past foster falls closer to chat. like t-wall and sunset. They are both mainly trad but with an experienced partner, you should have a lot of fun on easy routes on top rope. If your in Atlanta alot your close to boat rock which i hear is some of the best bouldering in the south.

You are VERY close to Short Mountain if you like bouldering. The Obed and Foster Falls are excellent if sport is your style.

I have been to short mountain bouldering and enjoyed it, but was wondering who tried and I mean TRIED to bolt some routes there? Cause there were some really bad bolt jobs that I saw, but all and all there is some really great bouldering there.
