Hi there, this is my first post.
I'm moving down to Asheville from New Jersey on august 5th with 2 friends. Recently on a trip to upstate NY I took a beginners rock climbing course and I absolutely fell in love with it. Under the advice of my instructor I bought a pair of shoes and a harness. Now I have a burning desire to climb.
Basically, I'm just looking to meet someone from the Asheville area who can point me in the right direction. I thought I would join a rock climbing gym, but I'd also like to do some outdoor climbing.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Asheville is a great place for climbers, if you can overlook the ever present rain. There is a gym in town but it's more of a bouldering wall than anything else. You should find that the guide books will point you in the right directions for the best climbing. Good luck! :D

I am going to school in Johnson City at ETSU... It is really close to Asheville and I plan on spending lots of time in Asheville to climb and plus my best friend lives there... so if you ever want to meet up I would be more than happy to climb with ya.. :)
