I think I've got the same thing. If it's on the outside of the elbow, it's more commonly reffered to as tennis elbow. On the inside, it's called golf elbow. That's what I've got, even though I've never played golf.

From what I've heard here on the site and from a doctor, the best cure is rest, rest, and rest until it stops hurting, then slowly strengthening it, avoiding more damage.

Hope this helps.

I had pain there too last winter. There's no way to diagnose it over the internet. I had to all but stop climbing (I continued doing one day of easy trad a week, but no training, and no sport climbing) for about 3 months before the pain went away. If it's been bothering her for six months, she should go see a doctor -- well, actually, she should have gone to see one sooner.

One of my climbing partners had pain in that area. It turned out to be a "distal bicep tendon rupture". Requiring surgery to repair. If she's hurting tell her to stay off it. And why in the hell are you seeking medical advice in this forum? Make her go see a F#*$ing doctor, someone that can actually help!

Has to be a tendin or ligament problem, but this doesn't mean its serious (surgery solutions).

Get your girlfriend to see a doctor.
