Alright, the things that I found so far are that you are missing all of the DMM 4CU's which troubles me greatly. In addition, while attempting to just use the wild country tech friends since they are the same size, I found that you are missing the 2.5 tech friend on your list. Otherwise, I'm enjoying this thing immensely. I great gear-head toy!

most importantly- HB Offsets! oh, and the set thing, too- since i have two full sets of everything, adding all those damn cams individually is a pain in the ass. but really cool toy anyway! edit: 7 kilos just in pro...what the hell is wrong with me?

Cool idea, thanks. Few things... - bug: graph doesn't work in Netscape but does in IE - add HB curves (nuts) - add HB offsets (might be tricky!) - add HB quadcams - add checkboxes for adding multiple items at once from the main list page - perhaps an ability to have multiple racks, such as "all my gear" and "usual rack" Good luck with the development!

I am really glad everyone is enjoying the tool. There is quite a bit of work put into it and I am glad to see ppl are putting it to use (or entertainment). I am working on an extended version which I hope to have out by next weekend. My current plans are to add more gear and permit the additions of sets of gear (esp. for passive protection; like a set of nuts). If you have a problem please post ur browser and operating system so I can try to replicate it. THANKS EVERYONE! Mark

Gawd that's Great, I was just thinking of doing an inventory of my rack, It's half done for me now, including value & weight!! Total value of rack: 2143.6 USD Total weight of rack: 4285 grams Yes would love to see biners in there, I know this is probably asking a bit much.. and for those of us who live/climb where pitons are still mandatory part of our racks, it would certainly double my weight, making it more accurate. But Awesome job, thanks for this! PS: if you just hit you back button twice after adding each piece of gear you can fill your rack in no time

Does anyone know where to obtain HB Offsets statistics. I can find the max-width and weight. I need a min-width or thickness for the data to work. Thanks!

Great site! In Opera 8.02 it didn't seem to work (couldn't start a rack) until i selected "save cookie" on login. Now it works great. Is it possible to update the weight and stength for the Maxcams: http://www.trango.com/pdfs/CamSpecs.pdf

Very interesting and fun. A couple points:
- You can only add one piece of pro at a time, not including multiples of the same piece. P.I.T.A.; - You have to start at the beginning when you want to add another piece; you can't jump back to "Passive Gear, Nuts/Stoppers" but instead have to go through the entire thing each time; - You only allow for protection. There's no allowance for biners/slings/QDs/cordalettes; - The list is missing the following: CCH Aliens - all hybrids, including the yellow/gray, and the new "gold" Alien; BD Camalots - all old-style (single-stem, pre-C4) Camalots (I have an entire set of those, but the weights are off); As it is, though, it's a nice little tool. Thanks for setting it up. Very much looking forward to future revisions. T Edited to add list point

Need to add old-style Camalots size 3 and up. And it'd be nice if you could add something to your rack without having to "View" it first. Yup. -Tristan

Nice 8^) thanks! I did not see WC nuts yet. I am sure you are working on it. Could you have the weight generate a reading in Lbs. as well. I am not good with weights and measurements lbs is the only one I have any kind of frame of reference for. Otherwise, I just have to use the converter.

Try this; make the selection of gear into a form with a quantity for each piece. The default count is zero. Then I can type away on one page without clicking and waiting then clicking again and again to get back to add the next piece of gear. Once the quantity for each piece I own has been entered, then I click on submit and it's done. I don't have to wait for three different pages to get updated for each single piece of gear I add. This having to view the piece then click to add then click twice to get back to the add page sucks. Also, the form should always show the actual qualtity for each item that is already entered so I don't have to try to remember what I had already entered. Fun idea but too hard to use. Dave

drector - I think u r on the right idea for easy addition. For the time being I have added some quick links and set additions (for passive only currently). NEW UPDATES - added pre-C4 bd cams - added 'add set' feature for passive NEED HELP - the way the program works for passive gear is that I require two numbers (trad. the width and thickness). HB Offsets and Rockcentrics only seem to offer the width. If anyone knows where to get some data that would work with the system please let me know. Also looking for RP data.

RE nuts might be nice (I think they are the same as Trango nuts, thoug not 100% certain). Anyway here are the specs: http://www.adventureschool.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/2_54/products_id/226

In reply to: You need to add more gear other than pro. Adding biners, slings, belay devices, etc. This wouldn't factor into the range graph but would give you an idea of weight. It is a little time-consuming to use as it takes 5 clicks to add a single piece of gear. Perhaps it would work better if you could check multiple pieces of gear in each list, for example, allow me to check off BD stoppers 4-13 on one page instead of going back and forth between several. All in all it's a great concept, it just needs a little tweaking. I agree, its a little bit too slow.

Good Idea BUT a real pain to make a rack. As others suggested, instead of using a dropdown list to add a cam We have to make 3 to 4 click to add and go back to the rack page ..... Too painful and waste of time !!
