Well it looks like ETSU is where I'm going to go... UNC Asheville and App state were my first picks, but to expensive... So no more pittying myself.. Im just going to make the bestout of ETSU... so why not going ahead and meet some climbers from the area?? anyone out there???

I live about half an hour from etsu, my buddies and i try to head out pretty much every weekend, and climb at a home wall a couple times a week. If your interested give me a shout.

There are a couple local crags here we get out to quite a bit, also linville gorge, ship rock, looking glass, along with trips to the new, obed, and the red.

I'll be going to ETSU this year too. I usually climb in North Carolina at Linville, Looking Glass, Boone, etc. or Chatanooga area at Foster Falls or T-Wall or at New River or Obed. Also getting into some ice and alpine climbing this year.

Congrats. Thats not a bad spot to be in if you are a climber... you could have done a lot worse, thats for sure!!! Me and my climbing buds will be down around boone quite alot since our local area is still closed so if you ever need someone to go with gimme a shout im always looking for new people to go climbing with.

i to am moving to johson city, and new to the sport. was wondering if someone could show me a couple of bouldering spots close to capus.

I live in JC as well and haven't climbed in over a year...aaaaaggggghhh!!!! (due to local closures and climbing buddy and I haven't seen each other in a year)
So I'm hard pressed to get some rock time...unfortunately with a busy job and family I can't get away too often...more of a weekend warrior. Would love to hook up for a day trip or even gym at ETSU.
