About a year ago I was working on a stupid crimpy boulder problem and when I moved onto one of the holds I misjudged my distance and slammed the tip of my index finger onto the hold. Obviously it hurt and I had a tingly feeling in the tip for a few days (like when your foot falls asleep). It's been almost a year now and my finger still gets that tingly sensation when I apply a lot of pressure to that finger, especially on crimpy routes. I took 2 months off over the summer thinking it was some sort of a bruise, but when I started climbing again the sleepy/numb feeling was still there!! It no longer hurts, just feels very strange when I use and for a few days afterward. Has anybody had this problem or have any idea what it is? I went to the doctor who simply told me I was "full of it" and it was probably a skin thing....but that doesn't make sense to me.
