I just heard in the news that 2 climbers, man and woman, died on Cap Trinité here in Québec. Apparently happened in the night. Police will investigate. Nobody knows what it`s related to yet. The man had 20 years of experience. I'll keep you posted. - Genlock

Just for information, the man had 27 years of experience and the girl 3 years only. I hope that we would know what's happened during the next days...

My condolences to the family and friends of the climbers. Here is a link with the story I read in the paper. The article is very vague. If anyone has any more information, please post it.

I`ve just got the last bit of the news report, I'll try to catch it later tonight apparently it's not an equipment failure, it would rather be the anchor point of the ledge that wasn't bomber. Plus the climbers didn't anchor themselves in the ledge. when they went to sleep, the setup failed and they followed the ledge to the ground. The name of one of the guy that has inspected the equipment sounded familiar.. I think he's member here.. anyways.. I'll keep you posted. Genlock. PS : the wall will be reopened on the 12 of august. it's been closed since monday [ This Message was edited by: genlock on 2002-08-09 15:24 ]
