Winter is not a problem in Florida. The problem is that there are no rocks to climb here. I was able to get to crags in Georgia and Tennessee in November, December, February, and March. Welcome, Spring!

I haven't climbed outdoors since October, and have climbed in the gym only once since then.

Haven't missed it.

Five months, after opperation on my wrist. It sucked, a lot.
Worst thing was, having nothing better to do, I still ended up at the local climbing wall watching other people and feeling miserable!

All better now, climbing again after so long was great. I get grumpy if I climb less than twice a week now!

About 6 months. I really scared myself on High Exposure and couldn't bring myself to go more than a couple of steps above the ground for a while.

I stopped climbing for the last 6 weeks. I've been unemployed, and can't spare the cash for the gas money, or the monthly at the gym. Paycheck is heading my way in another 12 days....

lemmie tell ya, it has been horrible. I hate being unemployed, but I hate not being able to climb even more.

6 months.

Decided to move back to the city and start a career- something about hitting thirty and getting a bit anxious. Didn't get a single day climbing in six months-- and realized I'd either have to forget about climbing altogether, or quit my job, and move back to the mountains.

So, I quit my job and moved back to the mountains. Not a tough choice.

Well I left Washington State in July of 2001, so about 4 1/2 years :( and definately not by choice, by location and distance to good spots, and lack of enough time to go climb of any frequency, I've probably made it out on the crags about 5 times in this period :( BUT in a week i'll be living in Mesa, Arizona :) good climbing a quick walk away WOOHOO!

....a bit more than two years, after my first six years of climbing. I was at a climbing peak just before the break and, since I scuba dived constantly for the first six months, became streamlined like a fish.... lost a lot of strength.... It's taken another four years to get back to where I was.... but life changes.... priorities change.... Can't just climb like I used to be able to do.... the important thing is, no matter what happens, climbing is always there and the enjoyment remains whether it's been six months or six hours....

A week at most for me. Then I start going nuts and having crazy climbing withdrawls. The rock consumes me.
