For anyone climbing in the NC area, let it be known that I had to bail out on the Glass Menagerie at Looking Glass mt  There are 2 ropes dangling from the 7th pitch. The fixed rope on the top is a 60m 10.5mm Blue Water Accelerator. Manufactured 2004, bought Jan 2005. It has seen 3 or 4 weekends of lead use, other than that it's been primarily used on top rope setups. Rope is in great shape. The second (lower) rope was (we cut off anything that reached the ground) a 60m 10.something static line. It was my friend's rope and I do not know the history of it. Both ropes have been there since Saturday 26 Nov. 2005.
I have not kept a watch on the weather down there, but Neither rope is in the sun. If you go to retrieve the ropes, watch out for any ice that may be up top. That's what caused us to bail from the climb. If there's no ice, it's a good deal. Just jug up the line, climb a 5.9 and finish the 5.6/7 run-out to the top. Good luck.
