American's dont climb. We're too fat to climb. We fall well though.. Maybe the occational rappell - if we're lucky, and can squeeze into the harness.. - d, professional 5.chuffer

I'm up at happies all the time. I hardly see people climbing hard stuff (V6 or harder). I see mostly peeps climbing in the V2 to V-6 range. climbing is just plain fun for me. Who cares about the ratings anyway. Copitition always bring out the bad in us...

Can't wait for the new phbb2, when you can create your own polls at the top of a thread.

I climb (while in my best shape) 5.5 in the shade and only if a bar is close by.

me and my buddies push 5.14 on our weak days and a bit more when we're psyched. Of course we have no witnesses of these exploits but then again, who needs witnesses, we know its true he he he!

5.average and V-average. There are about 1800 times more people who climb in gyms who can barely make it up a 5.6, so, uhm, they would make the stats bad or something.

For trad climbers, I would say the average leader can do 5.8+ safely (UK VS+ HVS-).
