Where is a good place to go around Colorado and Utah for bouldering and sport leading (in Mar/Apr)? Don't have a rack so trad climbing is out... any ideas? Out west is much preferred, and desert rock would be awesome too. Thank ya much

Moab- lots of bouldering around, fun town and you can sport climb some stuff on Wall Street, which is south facing- good to note since you will be freezing!

Or just go to Jtree or red rocks!

enjoy

I haven't climbed in CO but I have been to Utah a few times now. Moab is defintely the spot for this time of year. There is a wicked bouldering spot just outside of the town called Big Bend where there are enough problems to keep you happy for months.

Wall Street has some nice sport routes but if you can try to hook up with a partner who's got a rck, it will make the trip all that more enjoyable when your crankin up the delious sandstone cracks.

Maple Canyon is another wicked spot but this time of year most of the crags up towards Salt Lake will be frozen and I believe there is some wicked ice if ya wanna bring your screws to Maple.

If you are at all concerned about things being chilly, it was said before Red Rocks, J-Tree or even Bishop. You won't be disappointed.

If you do make you way to Moab be sure to stop in the local rock shop and get directions to some free camping, there is a good amount in the area. I stay a few km past Wall Street beside the Colorado River free of charge eveytime I've been.

Enjoy the sunshine on your trip
