Howdy all, I'm Jonathan Eells, a regional coordinator for the Access Fund living in Lake Arrowhead, CA. The local forest service people in charge of access issues have started a really good conversation about trail maintenance in Tahquitz - BEFORE any access issues have arisen. The Access Fund wants to help the USFS build a management model for "user created trails", and we need lots of help. Please write me through here (jweells@charter.net) or check out my link on the Access Fund site, and enlist yourself to participate in the ongoing conversations about Tahquitz. We need you!

Sounds like a good start. When I was up at Humber Park a few months ago, the ranger checking for permits for the Devils Slide Trail told me there was a new Forest Service trails person who was looking into what should be done about the climbers trails.

Yup, it seems to be an undercurrent going on. There have been some developments with mountain bikers where the bikers were taken a little aback by sudden policy announcements to the effect of "You all suck, get out". Now, it didn't end up that way, but who wants to be on the receiving end of THAT message. Are you a regional climber to Tahquitz such that you might want to play along at meetings and conference calls? We really need some experienced voices at the table.

Friends, Please sign up with Jonathan, it only takes a second and at the very least you will be more informed about the area issues. Thanks, Jay
