would a diffuser make sense for a built in flash on my film slr? or would that just block way to much light? i have a pre flash option

thats what i figured... i just dont like harsh front light. and i dont have the money for a seprate flash unit. what about a filter on that thing? like a amber color to 'warm' it up a bit

A guy at work used a styrofoam cup to take macro shots of a flower with a regular flash, to make a nice diffuse light on the spot... (Otherwise you gotta get those specialty righ flashes). Personally I've used a paper tissue as "diffuser" before when I was using my Sony camera for macros. I peeled the layers untill I had enough light :lol:
