Just curious what New Years Day traditions you folks have for bringing luck in the new year. Around my house, its blackeyed peas and Turbodog. Let's hear it...

Don't have any. Tried to start a new one, taking the family out for a hike. It was a miserable unqualified failure. Guess I'll try something else next year. :?

FOOTBALL!!! Boy I love the holidays. Sit around watch football, eat great food, hang out with family and friends. Last night went to a friend's house and played poker until midnight. Got up this morning and have been working off and on since 7am (I'm on call this week).

Tradition from the Italian side of my family : red underwears for New Year's eve + lentils on New Year's Day. I had none of them this year... :?

A Czech tradition is to do or not do what you want to do for the coming year. So if you want to drink beer all year have a beer on New Years Day. If you do not want to do Laundry all year do not do Laundry.

You know what's a weird tradition...drinking to celebrate the new year. Nothing says self-improvement like getting wasted the very first second of the new year.
