Dear Climbers

I'm planning my first expedition to Mount Everest. My training is intense at the moment and I'm sure to be ready for this trip really soon.

Although I urgently need further advice and support for the expedition.

Please visit my hompage http://www.mary-woodbridge.co.uk for information, make an entry to my guestbook or contact me at my computer-mail-address info@mary-woodbridge.co.uk

Sincerly yours

Mary Woodbridge

you have given yourself quite a goal.

but...

sitting on a rock is NOT climbing training. that rope training looks nice, but what were you training?? i hope it was not how to hold onto the rope with your hands. you should be practising stuff like jummaring, tying in etc. and walking up bottle hill is not at all like hiking mt. everest.

two more things. your "final approach" plan is suicide at your age. you really should use sherpas, oxygen and "camping".

i smell a troll, but ive given "non troll" answers just in case its not. if youre serious, please reconsider your plan.

:wtf: (only if this is a troll...which is what I smell)

If not, get a guiding company and prepare 65000 american dollars (or more), they will train you for it and will get you up there. Please if you make it take a picture and post it, we would all looove to see it!!

Good luck, sincerely

that was an awesome website! I especially like that she will take the direct route because she is "not into the whole camping thing". That gave me a good laugh before heading into work today, thanks.

One question though, would Daisy be the first dog to summit Mt. Everest? I smell sponsorship in the air.

Mary, one word of advice: please consider dropping off that rain slicker when you pass by Base Camp. It will just weigh you down, and you can always send your pup to retrieve it if it starts to drizzle - which hardly ever happens on Everest anyway. Good Luck!

It's all rainy and drizzly here in chicago, which was putting me in a bummed out mood, but thanks Mary and Daisy! You've made my morning!

Advice from the Support Mary page:

In reply to:
Take some spare socks, a tartan rug and a tin of boiled sweets.

Edit: I'm pretty sure I'd like a T-shirt from this expedition.

So this is what such a powerful mountain at the time Sir Edmund Hillary has come to.

Well anyways I was wondering if you would mind talking my naked mole rat along. She has been always wanting to go and has been training by balancing on top on his spin wheel. She even has a cute little scarf and beanie.

Mary, you are to be congratulated for your dedication and enthusiasm, but you need a great deal more expertise than you have so far even imagined. What you need to do is to acquire a copy of the video "Vertical Limit"; watch it at least twice, and take copious notes.

That Daisy is one bouldering, long-haired, weiner dog motherfucker. That problem looks like it would go V3, at least. It is all slab.

We have decided to go without Sherpas. Poor guys!
I can certainly carry my own food (I have prepared a solid Irish Stew and Power Crunchies!) and the few cans of dog food for Daisy

How can she not send Everest with Power Crunchies in her purse?
