I'm new to PA specifically Bethlehem, PA and started rock climbing as a hobby...I've climbed a handful of times at indoor gyms in Texas and would like to know where some might be in or around the Bethlehem area. I also wouldn't mind a climbing partner.. I'm currently in Grad school at Lehigh and will probably get a job during this next semester.. so climbing/working out will basically be my only outlets....if anyone is interested or knows of places to climb.. hit me up!

There are quite a few climbing gyms in SE PA. I'm not sure what's closest to Bethlehem... Check out outdoorsclub.org if you're interested in meeting other climbers in the area. I know a few of them are from around bethlehem. We (odc.org) organize indoor and outdoor trips. I know last month they did one at cliffhangers in reading PA. On our outdoor trips we always set up a range of climbs - difficulty-wise. When the weather gets nicer, we'll be posting more outdoor trips (and take my word for it, climbing outdoors is more fun ;)) There's no fee or dues or anything, and anyone can post a trip. Either scottface (his rc.com screen name), or Brian J (you can email him from odc.org, I don't think he's on rc.com) could give you more info about what and who is near bethlehem (they pay more attention to that kinda stuff, I'm just along for the ride)

Hey Mikelikey, Ditto what niccast said. Also, I believe there is a Lehigh Outdoors club type of thing. On a recent bouldering trip up to Bauer/South Mountain up in Bethlehem, some friends of friends hooked up with them. You might want to check it out. Welcome to PA and maybe we'll see you outside sometime. Scott

If you are looking for bouldering, and don't mind a short drive, check out Haycock mountain just south of Quakertown. Fun and very technical. you can pick up a guide at Nestors on the way

yo mikey, I go to lehigh too. Don't know if you met the crew here, but swing by the climbing wall at Taylor and you'll meet people. We try to get out as much as possible to haycock, stover, birdsboro,gunks...and such. I heart texas. Ben bes2

I'm thinking of trying Climbnasium in Mechanicsburg, and I'm getting together some grad students from Penn State Hershey. Grad students unite. I'm not sure how far that is for you, but holler back if you're interested. No date set yet, the idea was just conceived over some brews last night. If anyone has opinions to share on Climbnasium, let me know.

Climbnasium is a good time, I go there with friends. I finished my MBA last May, so I'm no longer a grad student but I'm always willing to climb and work in Harrisburg, so if anyone needs a partner, let me know.

I willl be going to Climbnasium next Friday April 21 if anyone is interested in joining me. It's college night, so bring your ID if you're a student. Even old-timer grad students get the discount.

Kulpmont, about an hour south of Scranton. I've never been to Tilbury, I'm not sure but I think I posted looking for info about climbing there.
