I know a few people on here refer to Neil Gresham's training articles on Planetfear.com, in case you didn't know, he has just produced a couple of very informative training DVD's, which are available on the planetfear website, as well as from Climber magazine(www.climber.co.uk) and a few online UK retailers (eg Urbanrock, and I think, Needlesports.com). Ive just had them as a Christmas present, and I reckon they're worth a look- if your antiquated VCRs can cope with PAL recordings

Can't your VCRs play DVDs over there? How twee!  I think I probably meant TV's, with regard to format - I'm sure you knew what I meant

After watching these I would have to say that they offer nothing that can't be found from Planet Fear or a Eric Horst book. Its not even as good as the orginal Performance Rock Video. Aimed at lower grade climbers I think. It would be better to wait for the Fluxus book IMHO

Aimed at lower grade climbers I think. Thanks for the tip. I went to the website, and what was described as being in the videos seemed pretty elementary. It didn't sound like there was a lot of meat there. So then I went to Planetfear.com to read some of Mr. Gresham's articles...again, no meat, just a bunch of generalized crap like "work on your weaknesses" and "warm up thoroughly". Either he's holding back the "good stuff", or he's not that knowledgable.

Either he's holding back the "good stuff", or he's not that knowledgable. Its so true, he often get high praise, but nothing that he has published has gone beyond the most elementary level. I'd say he's holding back, but I wish we could see some hint of deeper knowledge in his writings. also thanks for the props Dylan.

don't be sorry for mentioning it! Heck, I went straight to planetfear to check it out myself. Neil has high standing in his comunity and its always worth knowing what he is up to. Even if some of us are not overly impressed with his published work to date, this does not mean that he won't do something interesting in the future or that his DVD won't be helpful to some. thanks for mentioning it.
