Hi all... I have never climbed in Vegas or even been there for that matter but I will be going soon. How far is it from Vegas to Red rocks and is there any special beta that I should know? Thanks all!

from the heart of Vegas (the airport), its probably 45mins to Red Rock. from Red Rock to the first gas station in town and a grocery store is about 15 minutes.

If you are flying in, and renting @ the airport, just get on the 215 west bound via the tunnel, and stay on it until you hit Charleston Blvd. (there will be some signals, it's under constructiuon still). Turn left (west) on Charleston and its a quick drive, ( ~4mi to campground, ~5.5 to RR entrance).

Charleston Ave will take you straight there, but it is a lot faster to take I-215 west (if you are driving from the south) or 95 if you are coming from the north. Then get off at Charleston, head west and there you are! You cant miss it. Huge sandstone walls.
