Advantages: They fit my feet well--the toebox is high enough that my toes can curl just a bit, without being crushed They edge like crazy--seriously, they're incredible They smear well They look good They seem to be well made Disadvantages: None that I've found so far

they are solid. very comparable with anasazi's. its a nice and agressive shoe for edging and smearing. i give it a 9 out of 10.

just try them on before you buy. if they fit, get them. great company, good people, great rubber, and awesome resoles (yosemitebum) and don't count on them stretching at all, so fit accordingly.

wrote to them about two weeks ago (at the email add at their website), no reply.. maybe they just have a lot of questions about sizing. will check again tommorow. reason i asked here is because i read the post of wanlessrm that he wore them for a year now, maybe he could give a feedback on the stretching issue (if ever it does stretch). thanks coldclimb. :D

From evolve
In reply to: Non-stretch synthetic leather upper with lining I can only confirm this with the Rage model but they didn't stretch they molded to my foot. If you size them well they can be uber comfy.

Mine are almost a year old and have been resoled once. So far they have not stretched at all but rather molded to my foot's shape. Try sending Evolve another email and include as much information as you can specifically other brand's of climbing shoes you've worn, the sizes, and how those sizes felt. They were very helpful to me, I ended buying my Kaoses in the same size as my street shoe. d.

This is a ballsy comment, but I would say that the Kaos are almost comparable to the 5.10 Anasazi- which indeed is the designs intention. Good shoe- GREAT shoe. Cost+Effect=GOOD PURCHASE

The Kaos is a great shoe and Evolv is a great company. I own three pairs of their shoes. Try fitting the Kaos to your street shoe size and you'll probably be on the mark. If not, Evolv will let you exchange for another size. They will not stretch. Try giving Evolv a call. Brian is great on the customer service end. The Kaos is a nice, aggressive shoe that is lightweight has decent edging power. Smears very well, their rubber is superb. It is also durable, every pair of Evolv shoes I've own have held up splendidly. The only thing I don't like about the Kaos is that it is a bit too supple for me, even though I ordered the stiff midsole option. I prefer very stiff shoes. I, for one, am looking forward to the release of the Evo, has all of the aggression of the Kaos with the stiffness of my beloved Bandits.

i am another satisfied customer. i have a pair of : bandits --- awesome all around shoe. great rubber, great fit, great heel, awesome edging, awesome smearing. defy --- great shoe for the gym - comes off easy, great for edging and smearing, awesome heel. agro predator talon these three are basically the same shoe in (slip-on,velcro, and laceup) They are super aggressive, great on overhung, tiny edges. i love evolve rubber. sooooo sticky.... evolves do not stretch. The first mistake i made was ordering my original pair of agros a half size too small. It actually takes me 5 minutes to slip one of those 9's on. Then... if you have ever had a toe on fire... well that is what it feels like to weight it. Nope!! i had to order in my street size. But ohhh so sweet they are. Buy evolve. And build them an altar on your gear shelf!
