I'm moving to San Diego from North Carolina and would love to get a tour of some of the local bouldering spots. I should be rolling into town on Feb. 10th and will be ready to get my hands on some stone sometime shortly thereafter.

I was gonna suggest you to have a look at the San Diego Climbers Coalition website (it was here), but apparently it has been permanently removed from the web... not a big surprise taking into account several recent incidents. Anyways, Santee is the closest place to go and Woodson has enough problems for a lifetime. You may check them out in the routes section of this website. Think about getting a surfboard too. Yokese

There's no more SDCC website, but post something over at http://www.climbingsandiego.com. It's brand new and there's noone there yet, but give it time.

In reply to: Well, kinda long story and not really my war, but here you go. Wow....sounds like a mess. Thanks for the update. I'm looking forward to getting out there and checking out the "wall to wall" boulders I keep hearing about. I went to Mission Gorge back in Sept. when i was visiting, but didn't get any climbing in as we didn't have a pad, shoes or any other gear.

Two gyms, AFAIK. Vertical Hold and Solid Rock . Don't know about the latter, but I do like Vertical Hold for after-work training (they're open until 11pm).
