I'm looking into buying a pair of Mammut Alpine Bibs. These will be my first pair of alpine/ice bibs and I'm curious how they should fit. I'm six foot with a medium build and I was surprised to find that the Mammut mediums fit better than my usual large. I don't mind the trim fit, and they feel good with capaline and fleece longjohns, so what do you think? Is a snug fit the way to go? Or should I go with the larges which are obviously a wee bit to big?

Having them be too tight will restrict your movements. Too loose and they will get in the way of seeing what you are doing with your feet. Try them on with what you think will be the most amount of cloths that you will typically wear under them and see how they feel and fit. If you get into really cold conditions you can always put more layers over your bibs to keep warm. I really don't think in that type of situation you need to worry to much about getting wet because if it is that cold all of the water should be frozen.
