Hello cats and kittens, how the hell are ya? Winter has returned to the northeast, and the local ski hills are desperately pumping snow on top of slush in hopes of salvaging some kind of season. And as much as my heating bill was enjoying the mild weather, something about seeing all that snow blowing, drinking my coffee, driving in on a clear cold morning... just seemed "right" somehow. That's why I don't think I could ever leave the northeast. Anyway, coffee's on, hope you can stop in. haven't seen people in a few days. http://www.louissteakhouse.com/...breakfast_buffet.jpg

That breakfast buffet looks a lot more appealing than the cottage cheese snack I am eating. I would love to go down to the cafeteria and get a breakfast sandwich and fried potatoes. I need to get in better shape before a trip to Joshua Tree in less than a month, so health meal plan it is. I couldn't ever leave the Northeast either. I don't even know if I would leave Maine.... I do miss winter this year! Skiing hasn't been good and the rain is seriously messing up the ice climbing. This cold spell after all the rain should allow things to build back up.

Morning yinz. That buffet looks very good right now. Makes me miss the days we used to hit the bars, then head to Eat 'n Park for their Midnight Breakfast Buffet. Nothing better to kill a possible hangover than bacon grease.

Wide, sympatico on the northeast vibe, dude, though, I have to add Cape Cod to the list of places I can't find it in me to leave. I had to take it easy on the stout fatty-food brekky today, tryin' to cut down to 2x a week ;-) that pic sure looks good though....yummerz. BTW, you might have noticed I got the disc of 12/28 QQ pics from Jason. if we're Attic-Wallying tonight, I'll burn yez a copy. there a couple short vids of you leading Pink Route. They're flippin' sweet.

Mmmm coffee. A day off (finally) and a staggering to-do list. I hope to get out on the ice this Sunday but it is so warm I may be up on the Yamnuska for a little rock. I have not been on rock since Red Rocks - and that is just over a month ago. starting to get the shakes. Brian

Ah.... good 'ole coffee shop back in action again.... Wide.... that tucker looks awesome!.... I'll have to settle with my pear, baby carrots and banana cake that I made.... a tea with honey would be nice. Weather here is a nice and sunny 65 or so. It's hovered around 70 for days now. Gotta get out and climb some rock.... one day.... soon I hope. Climbed on my bung knee yesterday arvo since I buckled it on Friday doing a drop knee. Was a little sore but held out ok, as long as I didn't do a drop knee.... Lookin' forward to spring break already.... flyin' outta here! Glad to hear you guys are gettin' the cold snaps back!

More Happy Mojo for ~T!!! Yeah the bitch of my current situation is that I Know I could sell my house here, pay of my mortgage and take the remining $250K and buy a nice house with a little land outright in alot of places. But I'm be stuck in the middle of nowhere, away from New England and probably unemployed. Damn!

Morning all!! So glad to see a coffee thread, I was missing you guys. Marge/Kel, I am so bumed but looks like my trip to RR might have to wait til fall. Please tell me how people live on this many days vacation a year. If I could take extra time unpaid that would be fine, but nope not allowed. I am reaching a stage where I might walk away from theses options to somewhere that will give me more holiday time. Beautifull and sunny here (as always) I have my choice of climbing outside or skiing on great coditions this weekend, how can you beat that?! Love it. Going to be like 15 here on sunday.

Hello A bit too warm as of now for my taste, although it's supposed to get to around freezing in a day or two. Headaches suck.

Erica!! I was just thinking of you last night!! Just finished reading "A Walk in the Woods" ... Good book. Strangely, I found his story inspirational, despite the fact he "failed" in his attempts to Hike tha AT. You still planning a shot?

There is this guy here who claimed refugee status after he deserted from teh US army. Saw it on the news the other night. Anyhow, they are making him go back I think. Seeing Erica around just reminded me of that.

Hey winter, I am glad I made you think of a deserter. haha. Chad, yes I am still doing the AT starting southbound in June of 07. Ironically, I am reading that same book right now and I too find it rather inspirational. Some parts have scared the shit out of me, but its all good and of all the books I have read so far about the AT, this one is the most vivid and is covering the good and bad well. You want to hike some of it with me? Erica

At the very least the offer still stands to drop you food or pick you up in Mass and get you to a hotel for a night if you want Edit: of coyurse starting in Maine in June will put you in Mass sometime around late July I'd expect?

no hotels, that's one of my ways of doing it. yes, sound ridiculous, but hey I can be ridiculous at times. thanks for the offer and if you do any hiking with me I expect 3 days minimum. :) As a matter of fact that offer stands for anyone here who would be interested in hiking portions of the AT or who lives near there. well folks its nighty night for me here. Yall have a great day. Erica

hey all, yup cold is back here in NE. Good stuff. Of course the cough I'm battling isn't liking it but oh well! Erica, you know I'm still in for some hiking with you when you come through. Unfortunately you're going south which sucks, because the AT south of here gets pretty boring. But I'll still do it with you! Maybe I'll actually drive up to NH and do some of it with you there too, much better views :) You're asleep so won't read this but oh well! :) Have a good one all! Catch ya later!
