I don't like the black border.. it squeezes an already really tight shot even more. also it makes it seem even darker its really centered too.. if you could have framed the right side along the light rock face she's on and added that amount over to the left side to see where she's looking up and left.. i think it would be nice do you have an uncropped version or is that what got shot tossing a bright non white tshirt over the black long sleeves would help her pop out of the dark background too (i have a shot like this i wanted to post but my gfs shirt and dark hair both blended into shadows and it doesnt work)

ok here's the original shot, there isn't much room for framing I see what you're saying about the framing along the rock she's on but that would have resulted in an instant buttshot which I try to avoid like hell. I really wanted to get her face in the shoot and I think it's cool how she's focused looking up. I do wish I had more rock to show in the direction of her look. As far as her shit goes, well I really have no control over what people wear lol.

i like the black frame, and the composition. It is really good for a buttshot and tr, i think you made best of it. Sharp, I can see her face, nice use DOF, good contrast, and i like you left some space on the left side where she is facing in the final crop. its a good picture.

It's a great capture, all things (shooting from the ground, TR, etc) considered. I'm undecided on borders for monitor presentation, but i'd be interested (just a thought, not a request) to see the original shot w/ the enhancements applied, minus the border and the crop.

Thank you! I'm not a huge fan of ground up TR shots because ... well ... there are so many of them, but I thought this one turned out pretty well. As melekzek said, the DOF, her face and the crop where she's looking at. Nothing to call home about, but a decent image. The lens is a 35-80mm Canon

My 2 cents: It's an OK shot (the reworked/reframed one)... The plus: You see the feet and hand on actual climbing holds, not ledges, with a decent body stance. She gazes up like she's dreamy. The framing composition is not bad, makes her look stable. The photo is sharp and she stands out (DOF's just right I guess). The minuses: The photo and actions are far from extraordinary or intense so it doesn't tip the scale towards memorable. A better framing with the original photo might've allowed for more crop options, though I'm not shure you'd get anything better panning the crop differently...

i prefer the first pic you posted in this thread. i like the thick border i think it frames the shot very well. good job with a TR shot from underneath.
