I'm not sure if this has already been covered. Didn't find it. I have read article after article about workout techniques to do in the off season to keep up the strength. What I am looking for is workouts to do to improve strength and mainly endurance. i'm really lookin to improve my "hang time" by the time next season hits. Any info out there?

ya, you should be able to find out some good tips in existing threads. the best seems to be the "hit" method. Google it and see what you can find.

I just got a metolius simulator hang board and hung it up in my dorm room and it is an awesome way to build strength. I don’t think it would be as helpful for endurance as it is for finger and upper body strength though.

I'm pretty new to the sport...but wouldn't cross training of the complimentary type be ideal? You could long distance run, to build up the endurance in your legs....or do yoga for the flexibility. All depends on what you're looking to build up Ja

I have the best strategy for improving contact strength. I have to be discreet though. One bottle of lotion, apply liberally, switch hands often. 10 minute sets, 3 times per day, four times a week. A good side affect is the stress it relieves. I'd also like to preempt any criticisms anyone might have about this training regimen: Juvinile? affirmative, but don't call me emotionally stunted I can't stand that.

I agree with ja. Find a complementing sport to do in the winter. I personally do allot of skiing. You may find that an addiction to Ice may be what is in store for you. If you need to, go to a gym and just do laps on a wall. Meaning don't climb a route then call it quits... ...climb a route 5 - 6 times in a row. Climb, lower, climb, lower, ect. as you continue you will find that strength and endurance improves. Alas start lower that you usually climb. Or, drink allot of beer, chain smoke, and be generally lazy. Climbing in the summer is the best way to work off the weight and be ready for the next beer season.

Add some downclimbing into the mix, that would be interesting. :)
