I'm so excited, I can hardly wait!! My ENTIRE group of climbing friends are going to the Gorge the first weekend in October! I haven't been there since summer began, so it'll be sweet to go when the wheather is a little cooler!!!! I just hope it doesn't rain! There's going to be a group of 8 or more of us going down south! Wish us luck!!

Which Gorge? Red River, New River, so on and so forth? Or is it actually just "the Gorge?"

I've got a group going to Red River Gorge the second weekend of October. Any recommended climbs? (Below 5.13) not ready for that yet.

Yeah but the hike in is soooooooooo long (shhh). Road side and Military also have easy access and some classic climbs of easy to moderate grades such as Fuzzy Undercling and Ro Shampo as well as many others.

It's the Red River, in Kentucky. We like climbs around the 5.10 level because there's a large variety in skill among us, so those are good for all of us. We like one called To Defy the Laws of Tradition (I can't remember if that's the exact name). There's also some easy 5.8 and 5.9 climbs in the same area. They're Mr. Bungles and Face up to that Crack. However, if you don't get there early, you're going to wait in line for awhile because they're popular. Those are all on the Left Flank area. Plus, there are a lot of nice climbs at Phantasia Wall. Creature Feature is a really nice one, with a little bit of an overhang. Also, Lord of the Flies is over that direction. You would probably be better off to get a guide book. They have them at Migel's (sp?) Pizza place. That's where all the climbers hang out. Hey, have a great time down there!! I know my friends and I will!!!
