I am from the east coast and am considering a trip to Mt. Lemmon towards the end of September. Is it too hot to climb Mt. Lemmon then since the Tuscon temps. can still be in the 90's? Also, since the fires, are the aproaches to routes very different from the guide book "Squeezing the Lemmon II"? Or is that guidebook still good for finding my way around Mt. Lemmon and its routes?

The temperature should be fine for climbing. It really depends where you climb. It is warmer at the bottom and get's cooler as you move toward the tops. Usually between 10 and 20 degrees difference than in Tucson. Squeezing the Lemon is really the only guide at the moment. Some of the longer approaches have had trail damage from the fires, but you can still get to them. Sometimes, it just takes a little looking to find the trail.
