i'm sure it works fine, but why be diffrent just for the sake of being diffrent?

the petzl jobber is cheaper, and its half the weight with the same pulley diameter.

That has to be one of the most annoying site I've ever been to. All the beeping...I'd recommend trying someone elses and seeing what you like. They will all work fine. Just get what you prefer

I've heard negitive things about the petzl jobber, like it not locking and weight ratting issues. I own a traxion for work and it's o.k. but nothing great.

If hauling is one of the worst parts of doing a big wall, and I'm gonna solo a wall, why not make it as easy as you can.

I've also heard about getting a 3 or 4 inch pully and using a jumar so it's easier too. How about that. I think Kate told me about that one. Was that you Kate?

Hey Zac I dont know about the CMI microhauler but heres a good link check out Copperhead's post on page 3 about half way down,

http://www.rockclimbing.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=13086&postdays=0&postorder=asc&topic_view=&start=30

I've one wall and I've spent lots of time learning and putting in hours. I went with the method copperhead used and was pretty simple, and I didnt have any trouble setting it up. The steel biner was alittle on the heavy side for the loads I was hauling so I just used a normal locker right into the bolt. The bigger pulley made it cake to haul the pig.

Hi Zac:

I'd say the best thing you can do is get yourself a 3" or 4" rescue pully with ball bearings and a petzl basic ascender, or a backup handled ascender.

This will bind less often and give you a huge pully, which makes all of the difference.

If you contact Yates, they can hook you up with the right gear, or send you to the place with the right stuff if you are interested.

(I've used a wall hauler, block roll, and protraxion. Pully and ascender is best by far)

-Kate.

I have to agree, the pulley(s) will make or break any hauling system.

Storrick's site has a collection of the following pulleys:

    CMI Double Micro Hauler
    CMI Single Micro Hauler
    CMI Uplift
    Kong Block Roll
    Petzl Mini-Traxion
    Petzl Pro-Traxion
    Rock Exotica Wall Hauler
    SRT RM2 Rescuemate
    SRT RM22 Rescuemate
    Ural-Alp Big Hauler 34.06
    Ural-Alp Double-Hauler
    Ural-Alp Hauler, Version A
    Ural-Alp Hauler, Version B
    USHBA Hauler
    USHBA Hogwauler Prototype #2
    USHBA Hogwauler

with his usual description, a comparison chart of dimension, weight and some sort of rating system.
