6 foot 9 inches 13 pounds (short sleeves, 14 pounds with sweatshirt and chalk bag) Gym: 5.15+ TR, 5.14 lead Sport: 5.3- (Beta Flash) Trad: Onsight- hard 3rd class. Mauve-point- 4.10c Boulder: T47Qb9+ (Tormey rating system) Been climbing for... well I bought some bananas the day I started because someone said climbers ARE monkeys and monkeys eat bananas. And now those bananas are black and smell like my vomit after I eat only Halloween candy for a week.

5'3" ~121 lbs 0 Ape Index Been climbing on and off for about 8 years. Broke my foot 2, almost 3 yrs ago. Stopped climbing until two months ago. So basically I've been climbing for two months and... I can climb up to V4/V5. Best was 5.11c TR 5.10++ sport stuff (felt like 11's lol) I can follow up to probably 5.11 for now until i get better. Building a rack for leading in the gunks so we'll see what i can lead soon ;)

5'7", 137 pounds (winter weight--125 summer) Led a 5.10a outside but that was at Exit 32 which is supposedly 'soft.' TR 5.11a in the gym but that means nothing. Bouldered a V4 in the gym also, but I've never bouldered outside. Been climbing regularly since October 2004.

5'8, 190 lbs Been climbing about 7 months Gym TR: 5.9+ onsight 5.7-8 gym sport lead: 5.9+ boulder v2-v3 outdoor tr lovely .9 on volcanic rock started out at the same weight and flailed on 5.7s for a couple months. I'm pretty strong but I'm carrying around 19% body fat by weight. I had it down to 13% for a while and it really helped me pull harder. If I could get it down to about 3% that would rock.

actually weight is very dependent on climbing ability for instance following surgery and some weight gaining meds: 5'10" 220 struggleing tR'ing 5.6 (i'd climbed before surgery but not much) 1 year later 5'10" 175lb 5.10 (TR) 5.8+ clean trad follows cruised every single route i climbed under 5.9, was doing the 5.10s in the gym which i find harder than most similar graded climbs outdoors (I hate the gym) after climbing every day just about for 7 mos (never indoors): 5'10" 170 don't know what i could climb on TR only led trad routes up to 5.7. when in shape i don't really care about TRing or following. Just want to lead. for every 10lbs you lose you can climb 1 grade higher. Well I can anyway. Of course if you have 2% body fat losing 10lbs might do more harm than good. the point is while fitness doesn't replace technique it does give you an opportunity to both use technique and work on gaining it. Being on both sides of the weight game I can say it's a shit load harder to climb if you aren't at a reasonable BMI. Instead of climbing you are just hanging on.

Weight isn't important till you need to use your arms I'm 198 pounds just under 6 foot and about as fit as a couch potato in the middle of winter, still, I climb OK for someone who doesn't train and is weak as piss... sport: RP 12a, maby b next weekend! OS 11b trad 10d I die in the ass on routes that are very steep and don't have technical cruxes... Oh yeah and bouldering is to hard for fat kids...
