Hey guys, First off I apologize about the no sho on friday :oops:
This site is pissin' me off this weekend :roll:
My daughter was in town for a couple of days so, thursday I had to run around and do family stuff. Our last stop was her great-grandpa at like midnight then I still had to take her home. I tried to come in friday (work is the only place I have web acess) morning to see what was up but, the stupid site wouldn't load up. I just kept getting some error and a partial screen. Same thing on Saturday.
I finally got on this morning.
I hope y'all had a great time!! What did you climb?? Who all went??
Peace
Rich S

Hitting R&J north this afternoon... 4:30 - 6:30 ish. Come on by if you want to climb. BTW I found this basic workout in Climbing magazine. I need to get my arse off the couch and get back in shape, thought others may be able to use it:

Periodization Work Out:

Week 1-3 Baseline Endurance (BLE, I am here in the workout):
60% of your red point - 6-8 routes X 3 reps - 5 min rest between burns
Think technique!!!
Off days: bike, run or swim

Week 4-8 Stregth Endurance (SE):
75% of your red point - 3-5 routes X 2-3 reps - 5-10 min rest between burns, add 3-5 boulder problems to work Power-Stregth (PS) after stregth endurance training
Off days: bike, run or swim

Week 9-11 Mod SE & Hard PS:
SE = 3 routes, 2 burns each
PS = 4 problems, min 3-4 trys each 90-95% of your bouldering red point
Off days: bike, run or swim

Week 12-15 Less PS, More Mod SE:
PS = 1 or 2 boulder problems, 1 or 2 attemps
SE = 4-5 routes, 1 burn
Off days: bike, run or swim

Week 16 rest, Week 17 float your project route :)

Hope this helps,

KT

In case Kyle's Periodization Work Out isn't for you, here's plan B.

This is the basic workout from Desk Jockey's Weekly rag workout (aka the I'm-effin'-chained-to-my-effin'-desk-and-effin'-hatin'-it workout).

Weeks 1-2
Realization sets in that the climbing season kicks into high gear in 2 months and the closest thing I've done to climbing in the past 5 months is push a mouse. Training -- cursing, 3 sets of 4 reps, repeat as necessary.

Weeks 3-4
Baseline testing of incompetence.
One workout at climbing gym per week, fueled by Pepsi and Oreo cookies. Climb until failure, or 2 routes rated 5.6 or less, whichever comes first. Drive home, recover by consuming Budweiser and aspirin.

Weeks 5-6
Mid level office endurance.
Deadlines from slacker VP Wannabee 4 levels up the corporate chain of command require your presence in the office late every night of the week. Workout -- wash down Krispy Kreme donuts with copious quantities of diet Cokes. Ski over the weekend, although the 4-hour commutes each way to the slopes reduce actual ski time to only 3 runs per day.

Week 7
Advanced whining.
Step up gym climbing to 2 nights per week. Send at least 3 routes rated 5.8 or more, while trying to keep ever-expanding waistline tucked into harness. (Why do harnesses shrink every winter? It must be some molecular problem with nylon's structural stability.) Nurse tweaked tendons with Sam Adams and Vitamin I.

Week 8
Cold realization that I suck.
Step up to the big time outdoors. Drive to warmest crag, locate the most attractive climber Betty wearing the skimpiest outfit, and drop gear at the base of the closest and most difficult route next to said Betty. Attempt route, flail miserably, tuck tail and go home, drown sorrows with vast quantities of Fat Tire and Alleve.

Repeat the above sequence each season as necessary.

I'm already thinking about alpine rock routes in RMNP. Preferred partner will have advanced skiing abilities, look like a goddess, and climb like Sharma...who the hell am I kidding? Does anyone want to partner up for some skiing and/or climbing in RMNP? :D Coming soon to an area near you.

Very excellent training schedule there, Shorty. I'll have to pass it along to the appropriate parties.

Hi I am looking for Climbing partners ! I have until May 20th to climb every day! I am a guide, waiting for the summer season work to start up.
I just moved into the Boulder area and need peoples to climb with!. I will climb Trad, sport, boulder, Alpine stuff, Ski down shit, I want to get out. I climb in the 5.9 5.10 range usually, sometimes you will see me wankin up some 11 sport lines. I enjoy long classic alpine routes! Drop me a line!

That is absolutely disgusting. It's hideous. Totally not cool. A complete lack of understanding the important things in life. If God had intended for man to snowboard, he wouldn't have given us two legs.

Now if he were going skiing....that would be completely reasonable.
