Any chance you've used it in any kind of strong winds or weather? At altitude?

Funny this came up today, as I've just become interested in getting a BD Firstlight, which is similar; same fabric, but a bit smaller. I've read a bunch of reviews on it, and the majority like it a lot, and have used it in all kinds of rasty weather with no problem. A strong minority, however, have had some near drowning experiences that give me pause. I don't want a tent that works fine most of the time, but that is apt to utterly fail to keep the water outside when you most need it.
Small and non-luxurious doesn't bother me at all; but I've had rain inside the tent before on a 9 day rainy trip, and I don't ever want that again. I can rig a 1 pound tarp so I'm dry in an absolute gale. If a tent won't keep me dry when I need it most, I'll stick with the tarp and a bottle of bug repellent.
Were the people who's gear got wet inside the tents doing something wrong that can be avoided, or is the tent just unreliable? That's the question I want answered before I buy one.

Get a 1 door Bibler Eldorado if your life will depend on it. It's the same size but almost a pound heavier.
Get a Bibler Fitzroy if your life will depend on it and you expect really high winds/heavy snow.
Can you tell I trust my Biblers?

already got the eldorado. beautiful tent when things get real nasty.
but i'm looking to move faster and must be lighter to do so...

I went by BD last night, and they said the Lighthouse and Firstlight are good at not wetting through from snow, and will keep out a heavy rain for a moderate amount of time, or a moderate rain for quite a while, but if things get really bad, they will wet through and start to leak. Once the fabric wets through, it will leak more if you happen to touch it, which is hard not to do in a small tent.
They said for very wet conditions, get a Bibler.
They also said it looks like their fabrics will work even better next year, but still probably not be bombproof in the very worst of conditions.

I used the bd firstlight in the cirque of the unclimbable and the bugaboos for a total of about 4 weeks last summer. It works great but when it rains over a long period it does leak a bit. Nothing too serious. I highly recommend it if your looking to go as light as possible over periods of time where bad weather is limited. If your planing spending time in a very wet environment go with the Bibler. Happy tenting...

I should have mentioned, they specifically said it is good at altitude and in the desert, where conditions are generally less soggy.

I was considering to buy the lighthouse for long time,but the mixed gear reviews finally turned me down.Not 100% waterproof.I think this is the minimum what do you expect from a tent,and it isnt.
So instead of this, i bought the Big Agnes Seedhouse SL2.
Its a double wall tent(breath),but have the same weight and room as the Lighthouse.Its like 60 $ cheaper too.
Let me know what you think.

i'm sticking with a single wall. the simplicity of the design and setup of single wall tents are demanded at higher altitudes. i have no illusions about the lighthouse and it's ability to keep a deluge out for extended periods of time. besides, that's not the type of environment i hope to climb in.
