I will be visiting Wyoming in a couple of weeks and wonder if anyone had any input on some decent sport climbs.

There's no climbing in Wyoming, it's flatter than Kansas.

I've seen pictures of climbing there, they are clearly a hoax.

Not only is it flat, it's windy and cold until June. Then too hot to climb until September, then it gets windy and cold again.

Sinks ought to be good. The Iris is probably still too snowed in. Tensleep might also be good. Good luck.

Sinks Canyon is great almost year round, Ten Sleep canyon is probably good, the Iris is still snowbound. This time of year it's really a crap shoot, you could be looking at awesome weather with temps in the upper 60's or 4 foot of snow...I love Wyoming...

um, ditch the sport stuff and get burly at the voo off widths. are there any sport routs there. how about in the wind river area?

if you're in southern wyoming, drive to estes park or the monastery. it'll be about a two hour drive but it's so worth it. the monastery has a ridiculous amount of routs.

Still too cold and mercurial to plan to go to Vedauwoo. If he lived here, sure I'd recommend it, but he doesn't. A trip there is at the drop of a hat, as the weather looks good RIGHT NOW. It could change in a few hours. You can't plan ahead for that sort of thing. There's also some sport near Laramie, but its not really worth roadtripping for.

As for the Winds... Do you have any concept of geography, mountain weather, and seasonal access? The person is looking for this week, and the passes into the Winds (9 and 10 mile hikes, minimum) will be snowed in and rife with avy danger. And there's hardly any sport in the Winds.

No, Lander and Tensleep (maybe Cody if you want to boulder) are the places to be.
