Firstly im new here so howdi to everyone
Im not a climber (will do it in the future though) but am a so called grip 'freak' - can tear a tennis ball in half, crush a potato with either hand etc
What im looking for is a video or picture of someone doing a 1 arm, 1 finger pull up/chin up - i did a search an couldnt find anything, but ive been told there has been a video posted on this board
Also, my goal right now is to do a 1 finger chin up, as in a finger of each hand, with 300lbs of weight - my 230 plus 70lbs of extra weight - would this be a great feat or would more weight be needed??

There are videos floating around of Fred Nicole doing 1-finger pull-ups, but I've never seen one on the internet. You might call the Yosemite Mountain Shop. They play the video in the store sometimes, and they might have a copy to sell you.

ACtually there is some footage of a guy doing one arm one finger (middle finger) pull-ups on a hangboard in:
MAsters of Stone 2.

i actually dont have money to buy a video or a dvd (not until i get paid) - i hvae found pictures now but no video
also came across Jasper Benincasa doing 'CTI' - close to impossible is definately a worthy name! i tried this a while back an had wondered if it had ever been done

savvy, your frame may fit your 230lbs perfectly, but of course, if you shed some pounds, those finger-ups would be easier. Good luck in your efforts. We'll be looking for you in the Guinness Book of World Records.

What the crap's a captain of crush?
I used to be able to do a one finger pullup (one finger each hand) and I could do a one arm pullup (all fingers) Does that count? I have a picture of the one finger on a hangboard. I slacked off for a few months so I can't do a one armer anymore.

thank you very much for the video - i dont know who that was but he did that 1 arm, 1 finger pull up, real, real easy, an the rope climbing was amazingly fast too
i have not closed either #3 or #4 yet, but im pretty sure i could close a #3 now - i unfortunately got a bit of bad luck when purchasing my #3 as its more like a #4 (grippers can vary a lot for anybody who does not know) - i would rate it 3.6 - ive came within a half inch of closing it
i have got #2 for 25 reps, got 18 reps on a hg250 (2.3-4), 50 reps on #1, and 100 reps on the trainer - i have never used chalk yet though, so obviously that will help a great deal when i do
lol @ you just been called fat - i am 6'2 but ive been bulking up for a good few months now so yes i have put on a bit of body fat, but my weight is mainly due to muscle and my height
im training for strongman so obviously i need more size on me, i want to be around 300lbs in a few years time (im 19 now) - i do feel by this time i may have the strongest all around grip in the world though so i dont see 1 finger chins (both hands) as out of the question - would also like to do rafter pull ups, though they may be too difficult at that weight

I agree its a shem they don't make gear like that any more

The end of that video (free sole of wheat thin) is a must see! In fact the whole video has great footage of Guillach (?) cranking in Yosemite.

how its done - i break the inner shell of the ball an then pry/tear a hole through the ball, an rip it apart

this is done by prying the finger tips in with as much force as possible (nobody has ever crushed one without finger tips), eventually they pop - ive done much bigger ones than this now but have no converter
