I have checked a lot of the previous post, but haven't really read if adding wood glue makes a difference. We are trying to add some texture to our school wall and have a limited budget so we want to make it ourself. Does mixing in wood glue add durability/life? Does anyone have a mixture ratio? The wall is inside but gets a lot of use and pawing. Thanks

On our schoolwall (boulder room) http://www.oranki.fi/.../pesa_wide_small.jpg we just put some sand (it was "filtered") and mixed it with the latex-paint, has worked pretty well. Of cource, we painted the panels before we screwed 'em on the walls/ceiling so there was no dripping or gravitational accummulation near the lowerparts of the panels...

I don't know about the mix, and buying would probably be out of your budget, but i've found that not all wall has to be textured. I prefer when there are only patches of it. I'd show you a photo, but it's kinda hard to get it to show up. :)

Personally, I dont really see the need for texture. But if you do go that way epoxy paint is pretty durable. If you want to add texture you can try the stuff made to add to paint for stair treads. I think the name of one brand is Skid Tex or something like that. I like not having texture on my wall because I want to be able to control options for foot placement by using jibs. Texture might create footholds where I dont want any.
