Give the guy a chance, its actually a valid question. I didn't know what the heck webbing was when I first heard about it on RC.com Granted English is not the first language here, and not many people here call it webbing. Edited for grammar...

Thanks Trees, but let me clarify, plees. Rope is for climbing, good for most climbers, especially in a falling situation. Doesn't work well without gear, though. Webbing is for spiders, good for trapping food, but unnerving when your hand is covered in it after blindly sticking your hand in to a hueco or a crack. I hate spiders.

Webbing is flat used for anchors and stuff similar to you seat belt cept thinner and often tubuler (pressed flat) its very strong and static you dont climb with it. ropes are dynamic or static and are round. dynamic means they stretch when you take a fall, a good thing for lead climbing. and static stretch very little. dont use static for toprope only.

In reply to: Use Static rope for Rappelling and jug/hauling only. (Until you fully learn the differences, uses, and concequences of the dangers of static rope...) please elaborate I was unaware of the dangers of top roping with a static rope assuming you belay properly.
