Does anyone know the current conditions in the Winds right now?? ie.snow levels, wet rock, mosquitos...

I haven't been up yet but the look from here is that there is still a pretty good snowpack. Runoff really just got started in the last week or so. I don't imagine that mosquitoes would be an issue, though things are definitely going to be wet.

RE: The winds. Drove over south pass a couple of days ago. Looks like there is still a lot of snow up there. RE: Road to wild iris. Looked clear and dry from the highway.

The Sinks is definitely getting hot, mornings and evenings are perfect, but unless you really enjoy baking, the afternoon is a great time to go down to the river and soak your toes. The road to the Iris is open, I was up there last weekend and it was great, a little wind and a little rain in the afternoon, but other than that it was sweet.

I was in the winds back in january, backcountry snowboarding. WOW, what a wonderfully secluded place! I wish I could go back.
