Hey, I'm trying to find the Vedauwoo guidebook "Heal & Toe: The Climbs of Greater Vedauwoo, Wyoming" by Skip Harper and Rob Kelman. I've checked all the usual sources (Amazon, ATB, Chessler, B&N) but have been unsuccessful. I believe it may be out of print. Does anyone know where I can find this book for sale? Is there maybe a newer book out that replaces it? (ie comprehensive guide with all routes - not a "selected climbs" guide)

Thanks!

There is a new guide coming out in the spring I think. If you can't find it, go to climbingboulder.com and print out rock descriptions. I haven't seen it around lately, but if you are in the denver area you can probably borrow mine.

If you're just going to visit for a few days, you could probably get by with the printouts from climbingboulder.com, as suggested. I did that one weekend using printouts from that web site and had no problems (Kim and Edwards Crack are VERY easy to find).
Also, if you're going on a weekend there's usually people there to ask about finding climbs, and those I met were pretty friendly.

There is a kinda "select" guide out as well. Not close to the big book, but good enough to get you around. I think we picked one up for $10-$15 at the climbing shop. Also, there is a bouldering guide out as well as a drtopo guide to bouldering.

Neptune Mountaineering in Boulder has a ton of guide books. You may want to look there.

May I suggest (for the 5.10 trad climber) a route called Friday the 13th (part 1). It is amazing. Far north end of the east side of the nautilus.

Cheers

Neptune didn't have it on Sunday. Not the best place to find out of print guidebooks to the US.

Thanks for the help guys. the vedauwoo.org site was kind of cool, but not really any help locating a guidebook. I'm only going to be there for a day, so I should be fine with stuff off the climbingboulder web site, or just doing routes I've done before, but I'm certain I'll be back again sometime, and was wanting to pick up a book to own for the future. It sounds like there is a new edition coming out sometime soon, though, so I'll probably just hold out for that one.

Thanks again!

Two weeks ago the Univ of Wy bookstore, in the student union, had 4 copies.
