Where is the best place to camp (sub $30/night) at Rocky Mountain NP and/or Estes Park? From what I can find, there are no showers in the park, and my wife and I would like to be clean for "campground activities." We'll be traveling July 2nd through July 8th. We'll be out climbing and hiking every day, so we really just need a close place to sleep, get clean, and then "get dirty." Also if anyone has some input for rafting guides in RMNP, that would be great too. I can't seem to find much.

There is a campground right outside the park entrance. They have nice tent sites and showers. Can't remember the name - with a little research I'm sure you can fiqure it out. You may need a reservation. Have fun!!

camp in the park, its totally worth it. great sites, nice views, i forget the cost but its definitly less than $30. you can take a shower at the landromat in town. i forget the name off it but its in the same plaza as the grocery store. we are currently planning to stay at Mary's lake campground, only becouse we are staying longer than permited to stay at the moraine lake campground. we are definitly not going to a site as nice as those in the park.

The campground right outside of the entrance of RMNP is national park retreats. A great little place with showers - 28.00 a night w/ water and electric. If you camp in the park, then showers are available in the laundry mat by notchtop bakery and safeway. No problems with finding a shower. You better reserve now or expect to get the worst sites. Later, ryan

camp in RMNP at a park ran site... Staying at a sleasy trailer/tent patch outside of the big one will only cost you more and give you a less authentic experience. The price in RMNP is only 20$ per site.

If you decide to visit in a group you might think about YMCA of the Rockies. They have everything from lodge rooms to cabins to vacation type homes. http://www.ymcarockies.org/index.php
