Shorty you going to make it? I got my Captain Morgan stance down pat.
Dude -- tempting, really tempting. But duty calls and we have the big brass in town all day for marathon meetings.

Captain on without me. Don't forget the eye patch, the parrot, and the peg . . . . leg.

To everybody who was thinking of doing a 14er with me this weekend
thoughts?

I think it sounds like a really long approach without a climb at the end to make it worthwhile.

Just ask Micah about Long's, I mean long approachs. Word on the street is he won't be able to climb (or hardly walk for that matter) for at least a week. What's the progress report, Micah?

I have no intention on pulling a Micah! Cmon Cindylou. You have to try at least one and you dont like it I will never bug you again.

But we can postpone it a week cuz I forgot Reno is in town. And in that vein I suggest we climb with Reno at 11 mile and then make the 30 minuet drive into Old Colorado City where I will reserve a HUGE table at the Front Range Barbecue. You like ribs Jeff? And if you keep my glass full of 1554 we can call the Colts / Patriots debt closed.

Then of course Denver and Boulderites stop in at Casa de Zozo on the way home beer and a pool.

I think Reno is climbing somewhere else on Sunday. Correct me if I'm wrong Jeff, but aren't you climbing in 11 mile on Saturday?

You should do the decalibron if your going to do Lincoln and Bross. Bross is a POS peak but since your gonna be there anyway.

Let's talk about some other peaks. I want to do Ellingwood Ridge in the fall.

Where is upper dream canyon? I'm assuming boulder canyon? I'm pretty much free everyday for the next few weeks. If anyone wants to climb let me know. Or hike a 14er? I've done 5 in the past year.

"buckskin" is the former, and my preffered name to the mountain currently know as "democrat" which is in fact a 14er. Denali/Mckinley, potato/potato. anyway, if you are real climbers we can skip ellingwood ridge and do the little bear to blanca traverse, or somthing like crestone needle.

Allright tough guy what I really want to do this summer is finish off all the 14ers in the San Juans which for me is the Euolus Group and the Wilson group. 6 hard peaks with the easiest route on all being 4th class.

You man enough? :)

nice climbing with you guys at happy hour today, jen, cindy, and dave...sorry to dpurf that i didn't get to climb with you...escorting the 8 yr old up and down the climbs was more time consuming than i thought.

and kudos to the crew that's lugging gear up there to clean up the stuff that an unnamed govt agency said shouldn't be cleaned...

in the same spirit as the cleaning crew, and after having slipped on the descent back to the car from happy hour crag too many times, and knowing that there's not really one set trail, and sometimes the trail coincides with the water runoff, etc...

is anyone interested in getting some peeps together for some trail maintenance? i'm thinking lining one or two main traills with rocks, and/or blocking off the h20 runoff areas, so as to direct foot traffic over/thru one area, and leave less impact.

i've never been involved in something like that before, so i have no idea what all it takes, who'd need to be contacted, and all of that. perhaps i'm out of my league, i don't know. i know a lot of you on this thread, so i know i can post that i'm kinda clueless and not be flamed for being a noob climber, etc. perhaps this needs(and will get, depending on responses, interest, etc) it's own thread, cos i know there's a lot of locals who don't frequent or know about this thread...

whaddya think? unneccessary? good idea? worth the time and effort? is there some kind of monetary cost involved in something like this? which authorities(if any) would need to be brought in/asked for permission/authorization, etc..?

I'm in, know about as much as you do on the reglatory side of things, but have some tools and some landscraping experience. Anybody else?

KT

jen suggested we contact the access fund, as this is something they do on a regular basis, and would know wtf they're doing, and by extension, the approach we should take...
if/when i think about it during regular business hours, i'll give them a call, and see what they say, and will post up with a more definitive plan.

i also have some friends who are pretty active cmc members, and i know they do trail maintenance/crag cleanup type activities, i'll contact them as well...

Josh and Kyle,
Funny, I posted the same thing and it didn't seem to post up. Weird...

The access fund should know the skinny about BC. There was a whole mess with just going up and cleaning the peace signs off of HH crag. I assume there would be similar restrictions on trail improvement. Bob D. may also be a good person to ask.

THURSDAY HAPPY HOUR CRAGG'IN!!!

Animal World. The creek is still too high to try to cross (especially with a dog) and the weather might be sketch. Animal World offers a nice quick escape if things get bumpy. Cindylou meeting you at the dome parking lot south side at 4:45?
We should be at the crag by 5

Micah you making it? Don't forget that stuff.

Mushroomcloud you going to meet us.....for beers?

Who else is in???
