Come on up to NH and climb at rumney! Its a sick place to climb with LOTS of routes. Anything from 5.6 up to 5.14d. Its crowded as all hell on the weekends, so come up during the week. The other thing... with the weather so far this year, check the forecast before you come up. We have had like 7 good climbing days total so far this summer. Tyler

summer trip + east coast <> north carolina. Go north, and watch the weather. Our only real weakness, if we're honest about it. and we all want to be honest.

Goto the Red River Gorge..you won't be disappointed! Amazing rock, beautiful setting and an awesome climbing scene at Miguel's. The new guidebook is very well put together..one of the best I've seen. Bring your endurance..

In reply to: We climb sport and are prob around a 5.9 leval. Any suggestions on where to go? I vote for Rumney over the RRG. I've never been to Rumney, but I have friends who don't climb above the 5.9/5.10- level and they think Rumney is a blast!

Go to Seneca and learn to climb trad. Take a course from the mountain guides. Then when you come back to the gorge, you will have a whole shit-load of routes to climb that you never could before. Climb all these routes (this will take a few years). And then you can go anywhere and climb, without waiting in line for sportroutes.

Table Rock (Linnville Gorge area) has some pretty nice moderate trad routes. Is one of my favorite places to go. Depending on time you could also hit Looking Glass for some slab! scoTt

I was at rumney last week, climbing was awesome, but it rained every second day. RRG is good to, but easier routes are not as close to eachother as in Rumney, but camping is cheaper. If you go to Rumney, start yourselfs at 5.8 Crag, lots of easier climbs. Have a blast.
