In reply to: Also, can anyone give me the low down on Castlewood Canyon? Parking, approach, is it worth it, is it good, is Stu's book the 'only' book? Blah blah blah. It's somewhat close to me... so that may be an option for me on half days if it is any good. The approaches are short, plenty of parking. It is a state park so you will have to buy a day pass or an annual. Mostly sport stuff, a few good crack climbs, lot's of topropes. Great bouldering there too. Lot's of rattlesnakes. Best climbing there is in the spring/fall. The best climbs imo are found on the east rim wall. Try Hedgeclipper/Project X area for a start. If you are going there in the summer it's best to start early morning as these cliffs have afternoon sun. Watch out for 'dem snakes.

I am thinking I will be at the SS between 7:30 and 8-ish. I think reno said he was planning on being there around 6, but that is on the other thread.... Should be a good time.

In reply to: In reply to: GARY Haaaaaaaaaappeeeeeeeeeeeee Birthday to you. In reply to: Happy Birthday GaryWhat they said. Note that acceptable birthday attire this evening does not include: - birthday suit and/or body glitter - any form of 'nana hammock (either with over the hip or over the shoulder straps) - any article of clothing which reveals or highlights your personal preference for shaving and/or waxing south of your Adam's apple(not that there's anything wrong with that) And please, no Captain Morgan poses. Oh Shorty - what happened to your great sense of adventure?

In reply to: Oh Shorty - what happened to your great sense of adventure? **ahem** Said sense of adventure does not include being within cruise missile range of a certain group of climbers clad in feather boas, 'nana hammocks, body glitter, ass-less leather chaps, tube tops, CFM pumps, and anything remotely close to being offered in a Victoria's Secret catalog (not that there's anything wrong with that). Members of this group (let's call this group "A") include, but are not limited to: -- killclimbz, reno, flamer, crazyfingers, veganboyjosh, zozo, bobd1953... However, the aforementioned sense of adventure is quite alive, well, and kicking for group "B" climbers clad in VS attire. This group includes, but is not limited to: -- mushroomcloud_2, cindylou, no_oreos, dina, mother_sheep, nextascent, just_me, and many others. I must assume that your keen perception skills have grasped the differences between the above two groups.

And didn't someone say they were buying first round?

In reply to: Sweet! I didn't make either list. Now where did I put those cheek-less chaps and tassels? And didn't someone say they were buying first round? My most humble apologies -- multi-tasking during a tedious conference call doesn't always produce the best posts. You would be part of group "B", as in BRING on the chaps and tassels. Which will almost certainly keep you well supplied in free beverages. Good thing, too, as such an ensemble may be a little short on locations to stash one's wallet.

Besides, the Angels line (not that I would know anything about that) is probably pretty comfy (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Since I am kinda new again to the sport I was thinking The Boulderado about 8.8 miles up the canyon there is a pullout about 200 yards from practice rock. Let me know if this works for anyone
