I climbing Cannabis wall last year and was thinking of linking it to Crescent ramp to make a longer route out of it? Has anyone ever done this? Or is Crescent ramp just a pile of overgrown choss?

I'm sure that it has been done before, but it looks a little scruffy/grovelly. There's a newish 5.impossible free route named Strange Brew around the left side of the huge flake that goes at C2 that would probably make a nicer extension to Cannabis Wall than Crescent Ramp. I think that there's also a link up from Strange Brew into Breakfast Run that avoids the A4 "Talus food potential" pitch. Take a look in the new McLane guide for the free route info.

Thanks for the info! I only have the old guide book, so I'll have to check it out in the new one!

there's a detailed description and topo in matt maddaloni's new guide - the recommended line is strange brew, as peas said. 11 pitches, 5.8 C2

I can't find my guide right now.. but isn't Crescent Ramp a 5.7 A1'ish length of greasy - grimy gardening? But, any alternative to the last pitch on Cannabis would be nice. Recommended Gear List:
Chainsaw Weed Eater Machete Small hand-gardening tools Squirt bottle filled with Round-up (so the route remains clean until I get there) Wist broom

I think you'd still have to do the last pitch of Cannabis to get to the ledge that Crescent Ramp or Strange Brew starts off of. Plus I found that the last pitch of Cannabis wasn't that bad. According to Matt Maddaloni's new aid guide, solo aiding and clove hitching pieces before and after the roof tames the roof pitch of Breakfast Run bringing it down to the realm of mortals, so that's something to consider too.
