I'm wondering it there might be someone else out there with similar desire. I'm looking for someone over 40 who would like to do a big wall. I am in my mid-50s and I have been climbing for a while but have never done a big wall. I am still physically building up to being able to this but no matter what, I won't be able to do it without a partner. I have worked toward this a number of times in the past but something always seemed to derail my plans. About me: I am very honest about my abilities. Have a mature perspective. Good partner. Focused but not high strung. Let me know. You: Mature, honest, not high strung

Hey, I haven't done a big wall yet but its my goal for the end of this summer and I'm looking for partners. What if I'm 22 but act mature and all that?

I am over 40. Just turned 46. Attempted Leaning Tower last month. We baked in the heat. Only made Ahwahnee Ledge and turned back due to running low on water. I am off work all of August and Sept. I want to complete a wall this year. Send me a PM. Steve

I'm in your age category and climbed since 1986-7. I've done a lot of climbing but never beyond a Grade IV. I have a pig and much of the gear though. Even if a big wall isn't in the picture I'm available just about every weekend and some weekdays during the latter half of each month. PS: I live east of Sacramento and so am close to lots of climbing. Bob C

KEELER NEEDLE NEW ROUTE My partner for a first ascent on Keeler Needle just bailed. Here is the story so far:, I left the Saturday before last for a solo attempt on the route. The hardest part has been done - getting the gear to the climb. I have the first two pitches fixed. I got a full rack, two ropes, 2 1/2 gallons of water, warm clothes and sleeping gear up there. So the call goes out. The first one of you who commits gets the lucky prize - a first ascent on one of America's most beautiful big walls. If I can't find anybody within two weeks, I go back up by myself. I'll pack a lot of food, for I know it will take a long a time. With a partner, the work will be divided between us and things will go much faster. So you have an excellent opportunity here since all the work of carrying in the loads has already been done. Even if you have very little big wall experience I would be willing to take you along. Jumaring experience is a plus. Alright, are you ready to go? Next week? Please give me a PM, mike@rangeoflight.com or call 760-876-4488 0r 760-920-3588. Cheers, Michael
