I have the 10.5mm and Can't get enough of it... it creates cool perspectives.

Have fun...

17-35 f/2.8 ED
80-200 f/2.8 ED
50 f/1.4

when called for, nikon 300 2.8 ED IS is a great lense, and is even fine to handhold for short periods of time.

...You handhold a 300 2.8? Thats a huge lens, you must have giant arms to keep that bad dog steady!

I've been happy with the 24mm f/2.8 ais....but i'm poor and can't afford any of the lenses in the pole!!!

I just picked up a 105 f/2.5 and 180 f/2.8 ED, too, and they look like they will be fun!

I find that, while shooting, i have touble being too close for a 50mm. I'm thinking about getting the 12-24mm, anyone have any experience with this lens?

Oh I love it, its my favorite, I just can't always use it as the climber would not fit in the frame (im shooting digital, so it has a 1.5 zoom factor compared to 35mm)

thats where that IS comes in my friend. its really damn good on that lense.
I've handheld the non-IS version of it as well...and that was a nightmare.

The only reason i'd shoot with one of those is if i wanted to get a super close up of a hot chic's boob or something while she was climbing.

i was shooting a track meet for a paper a while ago...and me and my buddy are lined up past the finish line, both shooting with 300's... and these like.. 16 year old girls start going " hey guuuuuyyyss. nice lensses"
it was disturbing. somehow the responce " do you know the meaning of phalice" didnt seem to appropriate.

The 70-200 VR is my personal favourite! It's just awesome! great bokeh, sharp even wide open and extremly fast focus! It just qives the picture a special look...
Oh and the VR is very nice too.
I also think the focal length is pretty useful. Would be even better on a full frame cam....

here's a shot taken at 100mm f/2.8 (wide open)
