Camping was great for my chick and I about 3 months ago. 'Climbing Colorado' describes some USFS land I think centered in the area you want to climb. FREE, you just drive into the forest and pick a spot. No toilets, and you got to make your own fire ring. It was off RT-72 North of Ward. Just check the dirt roads, if going North it was right hand side. We actually passed all cinds of spots, but drove 2 mile into the forest for seclusion. Stayed there for 4 days and loved it. NEVER heard another car while we camped. 25 minutes from Castlerock in Boulder Canyon, and about an hour from Eldorado Canyon.

p.s. Be sure to take a bathing suit for the pay pool just outside Eldorado, it was great after a day of climbing.

Wouldn't pull that bathing suit out of the drawer just yet, it's pretty chilly here now, especially in the higher country.
