Traddad, remarkable indeed. they said it cost 5 million pounds to make and they were selling at a loss for 800 thousand pounds. Weird.

The Bugatti looks nicer, IMHO> My favorite comment... "If you lined up the Veyron next to a Macclaren F1, the former fastest car in the world, you could give the F1 a head start to 120MPH before you started off in the Bugatti and still beat the F1 to 200MPH." HOLY SHIZZLE!!!!!

but is it faster? I like the looks...couldn't get any technical specs on that page, though (i'll have to look elsewhere). And it still has 200 less horsepower. Brent

HOLY SHIZZLE!!!!! indeed!!! FAST the FXX seems to have less impressive 0-60 numbers (3.7 seconds vs 2.5 of the bugatti). But watching it drive (google video - search for it) it basically sounds like an F1 car. I'd be willing to bet on a curvy course the FXX would likely beat the bugatti. http://www.edmunds.com/...les/articleId=108860 some more info google vid. http://video.google.com/...=-552260421210468245 cars are cool!!! http://sae.mcmaster.ca/.../121_2163-editsm.jpg here's an older version of our schools car. Should be fast, too!!! Brent

In reply to: I'd be willing to bet on a curvy course the FXX would likely beat the bugatti. On a curvy enough course I think this would be more fun. The FXX isn't street legal, and I don't think either of those supercars could do a stoppie--without breaking something expensive.

That was a weird cooper....it looked like front wheel drive from the tires but i'm wondering how it got around the cones like that??? anyhow. i heard that there is a company that puts out coopers (new ones) with 270BHP. that's a lot ..... :D thanks for the vid. As far as I know there are only a couple of road-legal cars which could come close to touching the 16/4 Veyron: Koenigsegg CCX http://upload.wikimedia.org/...gsegg_CCX.jpg/300px- Completely insane Swedish hyper car I don't know a lot about it except that it's unbelievably fast, incredibly hard to handle and could be a contender to beat the Veyron's top speed. TVR Cerbera Speed 12 http://tvrtalk.com/.../cerberaspeed121.jpg Road-legal Super GT racing car with 880bhp, 650ft/lb of torque and no anti-lock brakes or traction control (!). Hits 60 in 3.2 and 240mph+, but its real party piece is getting from 0-100 in 5.1s but 100-200 in only another 8. I gather that even the Veyron takes 20s to hit 200. I bet there are a couple of Dodge Vipers that could hand the Veyron its ass in a straight line though! Anyone know any more?

Anyone know any more? i've heard of the first one, but not the second (i dind't know TVR made such high end cars...) a quote I found.
In reply to: There is no official 0-200-mph time because Bugatti works in kilometers but when I asked its chief engineer, Wolfgang Schreiber, to give an estimate, he paused only for a second before replying, "Under 20 seconds, for sure." That's 8 seconds — an accelerative lifetime — quicker than the McLaren F1 i guess it's a very heavy car. And yes, some supercharged Vipers might be able to take it.....but likely not to 60mph. 2.5 seconds. holy crap!!! i saw that it had 922lbft of torque. another funny quote from the same sight!
In reply to: At first, I thought some unseen being was committing an act of physical violence on me. I was not pushed back in the seat so much as thrown against the rear bulkhead as if hurled rearward by the shockwave from a bomb detonating just a few yards ahead. By the time it even occurred to me to change gears, the horsepower meter (oh yes, it has one of those, too) had flung its needle past 1,000. Were the reactions of the gearbox electronics not rather swifter than mine, we'd have spent a second or two rubbing noses with the 6,500-rpm rev limiter. But, instead, the Veyron just changed up seamlessly all by itself and without anything you or I would discern as a pause, smashed me back into my seat again, engine bellowing its W16 roar. i think one of those cars would kill me. Thanks for showing me the other cars, tradman. I'll get some info on those! http://www.edmunds.com/...res/articleId=108032 good article there. Brent

Although, it has 2 superchargers. I couldn't find the rev range. Incredibly nice looking car, though. http://www.koenigsegg.com/graphics/ccx_black.jpg
