So i was bored and looking around at different gear i wish i had and i came across DMM's 3 cam units as they call them. Has anyone ever used these before? They look pretty solid and i like the design...Any info would be great.

I have the DMM TCU's in the style previous to the newest ones in sizes .75, 1.25, and 1.5. I have the 1 and 2 in FCU (2 is the new style). I love the 1.25 and 1.5, but the .75 isnt as smooth of a pull, so I prefer my Trango flexcam (pre-splitter style) in the same basic size, but its still nice. So, bigger tcus, I love them, smaller than 1, maybe look into something else.

I don't really like DMM cams much, but that's just a personal preference... I'm a bigger fan of the Aliens and Zeros for small stuff and BD for anything bigger than an orange alien (I've got a .3, .4, .75, 1-4.5 and I like them.) I've got a green DMM cam and I don't use it that much. I almost always grab the .75 or the orange alien instead. hosh.

I like DMM 3 cams (as well as their 4 cams). Bomber design and construction. I like the double sling so that I can extend to sometimes skip putting a draw on them. I have a double set of them. I use them in addition to my older WC Tech Friends and smaller sized aliens. But, it seems that cams are a personal preference. Use what feels good to you and what you trust. Cheeers.

I have about 5 DMM cam 4 of which are 3 cu. I have the #0 #1 #1.25 and #1.75 as well as a #3 4cu They all work great, are light, have machined cam stop, double sling and are a good deal for the price. Since they now have the same color coding as the WC friend, they are easy to compare in Guidebooks which state that you need a "green friend" The best cam is always the one you climb with. If you dont have the money for BD, you wont be climbing. If you dont have any money left after buying BD, you wont be climbing either. Check out Rock empire cams as well for cheap deal (not as good as DMM but cheaper and some good design) and Climb axe cams seem to be a good deal but ive never tried any (they have the same general design as DMM)

^^ I've got to disagree with skimping on cams. If a cam doesn't feel right to you, you have some trouble trusting it, IMO. And if you don't fully trust your gear...why did you buy it? Save up and get something you really like...it's definitly worth it. Jim

I forgot to mention, the only thing I dont like about the DMM tcus is that my thumb doesnt fit in the loop so I have to put it on top to place it. on the fcus this isnt a problem
