this weekened myself and a young lady friend had our windows smashed in and looted while we climbed up on the mesa........they made off with her purse. they made off with all my bigger cams, tools, and cameras.......it hurts that this year was a big enough struggle as it was, i lost my best friend to cancer, whom gave me those cams that were stolen by some fool.what can i do? what should i do? if anyone has any suggestions i sure would appreciate any input or better yet. both break ins occured this weekend in the upper parkin area. ....both between 3:00pm-6:30pm. if anyone has any leads id be stoked.....i'm the climber who picks up trash all alomg the way up and down all the trails to alll the local climbing areas, i really strive to be honest and decent to all, iclimb to find peace and today i lack just that . my heart is injured badly and i wish i could do something about it, so any info would be great. there was only one good thing that occured out of that situation. i met a young and atypical woman, whom upon the initial theft to her car respoded" well it could be worse..."that struck me as really impressive. impressive in that she didn't freak or get all dramatic. little did i know that when i would return sunday, the next day to climb with other friends, i'd be experiencing the same duress......i couldn't help but think of how strong my friend was, so when it happened to me and i was overwhelmed for a moment , i was grateful to have met a woman like her......i havent met a woman like her in along , long, while. at least not since being in colorado for the last five years.....there's something really beautiful about her....not just on the outside either..........i guess i should stop there......if anyone has any leads in either case, i 'd be stoked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i

Sorry that happened to you Mike. It sucks when bad things happen to good people. Keep smiling though. It becomes you. I'll be watching E-bay and craigslist to see if they pop up. What kind of cams are they, besides large?

Mike- Definitely post this on MountainProject.com. It has a much higher percentage of Front Range locals. Was your friend who passed away Axel from Golden? Either way, my condolences and a pox on all who steal gear! George

And offer to pay - she just had her purse stolen  Do you have her number?

What's the full inventory of the cams and how are they marked, if at all? There have been a few scumbags over the years doing things like this in the Front Range.

The Golden Police drove through the lot yesterday at about 4 PM, a good thing. Maybe a few requests into them to cruise through would be helpful as well as watching out for each other.

yes i am from golden, yes i was axels friend, and yes the cams that were stolen were from him on top of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!now all i have to do is imagine the bastards taking my gear and i fly up those wide cracks without the gear......i used to pick up trash there, do trail work, help in any way possible. now, i wont even go there at all.....it used to be sacred up there.....i quess i have been deluded once again. to be honest with you the tools meant nothing but the cams, well it breaks my little heart but "it could always be worse"!

mikey, I am so sorry. Nothing about this is fair, and with everything you have been through in the past year, to now have this happen... I am left with out words. Let us know if their is anything we can do, but don't give up on the outdoor climbing gym in your back yard. Don't forget the reason Axel bought a house in golden. That climbing area is still sacred for all of the same reasons. xoxo

We climbed there today with no problems. Of course we left nothing at all in the car, too.
