That's when you need to start fabricating stories.

And there Brent_e was...... 175 feet up a very nasty offwidth crack. Oh how he was wishing for a Valley Giant to save his bacon. But alas, all he had for pro was a pair of ice tool handles fabricated in his garage. But then the Chossmonkey on belay, started simo climbing up to Mr. Brent_e. He climbs right over him, soloing, since we all know he needs no cams.....
yada yada yada.
Actually, I would just sit at the bottom and heckle him.

Awefully hard to save the day that way. Of course, Brent_e could still save himself if he remembered to rack his deep sea rig. Then he could cast some 200lb. test for the anchors.

you can't really cast 200lb test.

jeeze, red!

:D

Actually, anything is possible in a FABRICATION.

The streets of Paris are lined with trees, so the Germans can march in the shade.

Looks good.

I do kinda have to chuckle though.

It kinda looks like some type of sex toy.

Is that the finished handle or is there going to be a non-slip coating added?

It won't be too long and we'll be able to compare them to one of the best leashless tools out. If we can ever get out climbing! :?

it does look like a sex toy, yes.
there will be a butyl rubber coating GLUED onto the handle so we don't have the same problems as the last handles. also, i've found another method to attach the shells to the frame. I'm hoping it's going to be the way to do things from now on.

a fusion is one of the best leashless tools out?!?!?! jk!

Have you thought of doing some sort of rubber dip rather than tape?

So you aren't going to be using Trango's method anymore?

I would have said best, but the Nomic is supposed to climb ice slightly better. They're still the best for drytooling.

I should have them Thursday. I should be able to go test and compare them to yours on Sunday.

I would say the Nomic climbs ice WAY better than the Fusion. I've used both and hands down the Fusion is one of teh best dry tooling tools I have ever used, but they suck on ice. I have been able to climb ice fine with them, but the swing on ice isn't what I would call natural, and I think the pick angle is off for easy sticks. The Nomic on the other hand climbs Ice great.

dual function indeed!

I have thought of dips, but I haven't pursued them. I am confident that the butyl rubber will be good once it gets glued on.

and what do you mean "trango's method"???

sunday might work this weekend. I'll let you know.
