I'm looking to see what types of systems are in place in your areas. Paper ballots, touch screens only....

If you have a friend named Chad and he hangs around on occasion.... Then that's how I voted. The local city issue was just an X in a square on a piece of paper and folded twice to be put in a lock box!!! I love low tech voting. Makes it seem more serious and not like playing a video game.

another for paper...as it was mail in...in fact, if I am thinking right (and those who know me laugh at that statement), I am pretty sure that we ONLY have mail in ballots now....

I went to my polling place ready to bitch a little about the fact that there's no paper trail with our machines. I asked one of the poll workers if there was any paper record with the machines they were using. Oh yes, she assured me, there's a tape inside on which the votes are printed as we go. Ok, I felt better. I went, used the machine, cast my virtual ballot, and walked out. As the coffee finally made it to my bloodstream, it hit me: internal tape doesn't do much fricken good if I don't get to see it, does it??? I think the machines we are using here (Arlington Co. VA) were made my Advanced Voting Systems. You familiar with them, arret?

I'm pretty sure we're still paper ballots, I don't remember any authorization to buy electronic since last year . Just to be safe I intend to run around the gymnasium screaming out my selections for everyone to hear. Make them a matter of public record damnit!!

My neighborhood has no polling place this election. We always had one in the past. Mail-in ballots only this time, although there are many places we can drop them off (the polling places of nearby neighborhoods).

In NYC ours are those old grey booth where you swish through the curtains, wait for the light, pull the lever to the side, then flip the switches and pull the lever back. Whatever that is, that's what we have.

I got one of the old style KY ones. Really sweet. Internal paper trail if I remember right, electronic counting for fast reporting. Most everyone else had the newer, turn the wheel to select your whatever. People keep on saying how backward KY is but our old machines are pretty darn good. Too bad some ijit in Frankfort wanted this new fangled shit.

I got an "official pen" from a kindly poll worker and filled in bubbles. No chads. The poll volunteers seemed a bit daffy and bumbling but sweet. I voted pretty much along Democratic party lines, except on the majority of our state props relating to illegal immigration. I was a pretty self-loathing Mexican there, I guess. I'm wearing my "I Voted" sticker right now.

Voted on a paper ballot, just like I was told. That didn't help defeat Schwarzenegger, but I reckon it'll help me sleep well tonight.

Eh... Schwarzenegger could be worse. A few more years with him are worth the Dems taking over Congress!!

I voted here does that count? I suppose I could have voted absentee, but since I don't have a clue what is going on back home I figured it was pretty pointless. The voting system as far as I know it is still paper ballot. Two years ago it still was. That would be in rural area. I'm not sure how many people would be in my old township, but I would guess that they have fewer than 1000 people come to that polling place. I wouldn't be surprised if it were closer to 500 or less. It really doesn't seem like it would be worth the money and hassle to upgrade to something else.
