Tracy... Is that you? I heard that you went all Grizzly Adams and shacked up with an Alpaca in Wyoming. How are things your way?

I am looking for a climbing partner for Paradise and to do some outdoor stuff as weather permits. I am also getting back into climbing after a brief break. I've been climbing 3 times in the past two weeks but my climbing partner just bailed on me. I am interested in doing some serious training. Let's go climb!!!!!

You know, I wasnt going to do it. I totally was not going to do it. I was not going to rant about the site just because it changed. After all, I am just a lurker anyway, I barely even post. Who am I to have a say. Well, dammit, lurkers are people too and I HATE the new format. I cant even LURK properly! Damn it. Mad What a load of crap.

PS- when I eventually get used to this site, I will rescind this statement.

I'd say this new site layout had sucked the soul from my puny body, but the Devil pretty much owns that outright.

Plus, being a white boy, I ain't got no soul.

hey everyone.

i started a new thread for partners on the front range. on a forum that's similar to the old rc.com.

it's completely off topic in re: the subject of the boards, but whatever. we can take them.

you'll have to register to post, or even to read, but we can still post pics.

what say you?

So, it’s supposed to be calm and in the 70’s tomorrow, and I don’t have class, who wants to go climbing?

Anyone up for some sport climbing or bouldering on Thanksgiving day. Any suggestions on where to go when it's a bit chilly. Looking clip bolts up to 11's or well protected low 12's or boulder up to v-4ish i guess(I really haven't got a good idea of bouldering grades yet around here yet).

I was planning on going to Indian Creek, but the weather looks to be a bit cold. Now the plan has evolved into clipping bolts at Shelf and maybe ski some.

Where's the best shop in Denver to look for climbing shoes? I'm going to try REI, but I was wondering if there's anyplace else.

Go across the street to Wilderness Exchange while you are at the Flagship REI. You might find a good closeout deal over there. At the very least, they match REI's prices. They are on 15th with a big, orange sign.

Couldn't quite figure the best place to post this...but looking for recommendations on the best guide book for Flatirons climbing. Looking for long, moderate routes in particular. A thousand pardons if you take offense to my choice of posting locations and a thousand thank yous for helpful info.

heather, i would not necessarily go OUT of your way to go to the Flagship store for climbing shoes as the selection is not incredible. i work at that store (not in the camp/climb dept so for all of you who have had less-than-satisfactory experiences there, do not hate me...thanks) i guess if you do not need to try on several brands/styles, then you will be fine going there. i made out alright with a pair of 5.10 spires Smile
